I met Mr Norton for the first time after years of bilateral hip pain which had been classified as non specific and possibly referred pain from a lower back problem. At that first consultation, at which a recent pelvis X-ray was available, Mr Norton immediately diagnosed bilateral hip dysplasia. Not a common condition in men of my age.
I was offered injections into the hip joint which provided temporary relief and was told that when I felt it was the right time for me, Mr Norton would replace the hip joints with the titanium/ceramic prosthesis.
I had my right hip joint replaced in October 2017 and was back at work at 6 weeks post op, pain free. I had the left hip joint replaced in August 2018, the recovery has been slightly longer, but the hip joint is pain free.
I would like to thank Mr Norton and his team for swiftly identifying the problem, offering solutions and ultimately providing the appropriate intervention. I thoroughly recommend Mr Norton whose straight forward approach is very refreshing and gave me, the patient, great confidence.

I am an Orthopaedic Hip surgeon dealing with all types of Hip related problems.
I am best known for having a special interest in younger adults with hip pain when no arthritis is apparent.
I also deal with Hip arthritis and complex hip deformities.
I have 15 years of experience as a Consultant managing young adults with hip problems and a large experience of Hip arthroscopy, open Hip impingement surgery and a wide range of hip replacements including hip resurfacing in very high demand people.
I undertake over 100 hip arthroscopies every year and approximately 200 hip replacements. I perform revision hip replacements and reconstructive surgery for more unusual deformities.
